Bye Bye CSCS Green / Operatives Card

From 1st July 2014 the green Construction Site Operative card will no longer be issued so if you have a CSCS green card that expires after 1st July 2014 you need to know what to do when it is time to renew.
First of all, if you do not work as a labourer, you should use the CSCS card finder to figure out the best card for you. If you have qualifications from outside the UK, you can get your qualifications mapped online by UK NARIC.

If you do work in a labouring role and want to apply for the new green labourer card you will need to:
  1. Pass the Health and Safety in a Construction Environment level 1 qualification
  2. Pass the CITB Operatives Health, Safety and Environment test within two years of applying for a new card (as previously required for the green card)
The Health and Safety in a Construction Environment level 1 qualification
The amount of training needed to prepare for this qualification depends on your existing knowledge and on-site experience. With little or no experience you're likely to need a 1 week (40 hour) training course.

We'll be back with some more info on this qualification but for now, CSCS have listed the following sites to look for more details about the training
