Event of the Month: The Munich Oktoberfest

Wouldn't it be great if all weddings led to a 16 day boozer where 8 million litres of beer are drunk?

The Munich Oktoberfest (Beerfest) is the world's largest fair and it all kicked off back in 1810 with the wedding of the Bavarian crown prince Ludwig to Princess Therese. 200 years later, this important part of Bavarian culture sees over 6 million people attending Munich every year!

National Minimum Wage to Increase 2012

As of next month the National Minimum Wage rates will rise for workers over the age of 20 and for apprentices.

The National Minimum Wage is the minimum pay rate per hour that workers in the UK are entitled to. This rate depends on the age of the worker and if they are an apprentice.

UK Construction PMI - August 2012

The construction industry saw an unexpected decline in August, with the PMI dropping below experts' predictions of 50.0 to 49.0.

July's PMI heavily relied on growth in commercial activity to pull figures above the 50 mark. However, last month the commercial sector joined the housing and civil engineering sectors in contraction - declining for the first time in two and a half years.
