A'RIGHT? - The London way of saying "Hi, how are you?"

BANGERS - Sausages (as in bangers and mash)

BONKERS - Crazy / mad

BROLLY - Umbrella

BUTTY - Sandwich, e.g. jam butty / chip butty

CHUFFED - Very happy

DODGY - Suspicious

FAFF - Dither / procrastinate

FAG - Cigarette

FLIP-FLOPS - If you go around saying "thongs" we'll look at you funny

GOB - Mouth. Which leads us to...

GOBSMACKED - Totally shocked / surprised

GUTTED - Really upset (watch out for Londoners pronouncing it as "ga-id")

JOGGERS - Jogging bottoms, not gym shoes

MANKY - Dirty & very used (used for things like your football boots, not women!)

NIPPY - Cold

NUTTER - A crazy person

OFF YOUR TROLLEY - Mad

PEANUTS - Cheap

PECKISH - Hungry

PLIMSOLLS - Gym Shoes

PRAT - An idiot (there are several cruder versions of this one)

QUID - £1

RING ME - Call me

SPEND A PENNY - The old school way of saying to go to the toilet

STARKERS - Naked

TELLY - Television (Also called "the box")

THE TUBE - Our famous underground train system (it’s a love/hate relationship for most)

WELLIES - Rubber / gum boots (because they were invented by the Duke of Wellington)

WONKY - Crooked / unstable
